After completing a Sports Science BSc at De Montfort University in Bedford, John began his career as a personal trainer and then progressed into fitness management at a public leisure facility.
During this time John was invited to join Prodrive’s Driver Performance team, providing support to Aston Martin Racing at his first Le Mans 24 hours in 2010.
John’s working relationship with Prodrive began to blossom, but away from the race track John began working in a more clinical environment as an Exercise Physiologist for the National health service, based at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford which is renowned for its expertise in cardiac health.
Working for the NHS provided John with valuable experience, but when Prodrive offered him a permanent contract his career in motorsport fitness began in earnest and over the last five years John progressed to a management position within the company, leading a team of fitness trainers, physiotherapists and osteopaths providing fitness support to Prodrive’s customer team and drivers around the world.
Having started his own company, Boomerang Pro Fitness in 2015, John is excited to be partnering Position One Motorsport to offer fitness testing, personal training, sports therapy, nutrition analysis and real-time physiological performance analysis as part of their driver development services.
